All things Shopify and commerce
We are close to being ready to launch our site but I noticed today that the logo and breadcrumbs portion of the checkout page is behaving differently depending on whether you are signed into an account or not.
If you are not signed into an account, the logo is linked to our homepage and the breadcrumbs start with a link to go back to the cart page, which is what I would expect.
If you are signed into an account, the logo is just a static image not nested in an anchor tag and the breadcrumbs start with "Information" instead of the cart page link. Basically there's no way to backtrack off the checkout page, which isn't ideal.
Below are screenshots of those two scenarios with the inspected html.
We only have the basic account type for Shopify, so my understanding is we don't have access to the checkout template code, but despite that, is there any way we can tweak anything in the settings or in another snippet to fix this issue? It doesn't make sense to me that the checkout page behaves this way.
Any help is appreciated, thanks.
Sorry if bumping is against any sort of rules here, but I was hoping to get any sort of answer on this before we launch our site. Even if it's just confirmation that we won't be able to tweak the experience of account users to be the same as non-account users on the checkout page unless we upgrade to a higher subscription tier.
Like I said before, any help or insight on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Did you find your answer?
I'm experiencing the same.
I didn't. We had to launch our site with that still as an issue. I'm hoping that someone comes along and has an idea of whats going on at some point.
Weird though. I can't believe no one else has this issue. I don't even have the back to cart in my breadcrumb (whether I'm logged in or not).
I'm having the same issue, we did have the cart in the checkout breadcrumb and now it's missing. I just checked out page inspector and it is missing just like the above example. I wish someone from shopify would help answer this question!
Did anyone find a resolution to this?
Same here. Still no solution for this issue? ><"
