Clarification Shopify and Paypal payments and commission fees

Hello!

I am planning to open a Shopify store based in HK with the Shopify plan 79$ per month.

With a 79$ plan the Shopify commissions for overseas credit cards are 3.8%+2.35$.

I will activate Shopify payments and use Paypal as payment gateway.

Please help me clarify the commission and fees applied by Shopify and Paypal.

For each transaction on the store, will I be double billed by both Shopify and Paypal or what?

If my customer pays through Paypal (integrated with Shopify Payments), will I have to pay commissions to both Shopify and Paypal or only to Paypal?

If my customer pays via Overseas Credit Card (Master/Visa) can I process via Shopify Payments? And commissions to pay are 3.8%+2.35$ right?

With Shopify Payments can I accept also Oversea Debit Card?

Bo here from Shopify Support! 

Those are some really great questions. So to clarify - if your customer were to make a purchase on your store, and paid by PayPal - Shopify would not charge you anything for this transaction. When a merchant is using Shopify Payments alongside PayPal they are not charged a transaction fee on payments made through PayPal. If you didn't use Shopify Payments in conjunction with PayPal, Shopify would charge you a 1% transaction fee for any order placed with a third party gateway. 

While Shopify do not charge for transactions that are processed by PayPal when you have Shopify Payments installed, PayPal will have their own set of fees that you will need to check with them about. 

With Shopify Payments, you should be able to take payment from overseas debit cards and yes, that is the correct rate!

Just to sum up and see if I got this right: 

If customer completes a purchase with Paypal (shopify payments activated) I will pay fees only to Paypal (no shopify fees 3.8% +2.35$ and or 1% to pay).

If customer pays via Oversea Credit and Debit Cards I will pay fees to Shopify 3.8%+2.35$

Hey, I have a question.

Is Shopify payment gateway mandatory or we can just connect it with Paypal and are good to go ?
