All things Shopify and commerce
Someone sent me a request to join their store as a collaborator. I went to log in and somehow I clicked something wrong to create a store.
I deactivated the store, but can I not delete/remove this emial account from shopify?
I want to remove / delete my email. Then try again when the person sends me another collab request to the same email.
They tried resending it, but when I try to login to Shopify - it brings me to the page to reactivate my store. This is not at all what I want.
Basically want to entirely delete my account, like I was closing / deleting a gmail account. Gmail gives us the option to permantely delete an email address.
How do I completely remove my email from this deacticated store, so I can actually log in as collaborator to another store?
A store sent me a collabator access.. I go to the admin.shopify.com/store/ABCXYZ and try to login using the email they sent it to. I get this message:
"There’s a problem loading this page
Your account example@gmail.com doesn't have permission to view this page. Try using a different account or going back to the Stores List page."
Back to Stores List - Switch Accounts
Clicking Back to Stores list brings me to the admin page for the store I deactivted.
What do I have to do to dissociate my email with the deactivated store so I can access the store I have collaborator access to?
Hey Chris! If you have collaborator access to a store then you should be able to sign into the admin for this store directly from within your partner account. If the login page is still redirecting you to this deactivated account though, I recommend doing a full browser cache and cookie clear and attempting to follow the email once more.
If for any reason this is still causing you a problem, please connect with our partner support team through your partner dash for further troubleshooting.

Thanks for following up on this Chris. Yes, you can create as many Shopify accounts as you want, you can get the merchant to send you a staff account invite to any of your email addresses you have. A different email address would not be connected to this deactivated store either. You can submit a data removal request, but that takes time to process so the fastest solution would be to use a different email address.
I do recommend reporting this issue to our authenticated support team though, as this could be a platform issue we would want to investigate.

Good call, @ChrisCooper! The store owner can double-check the permissions they set. If they are unable to figure it out, please feel free to have them create a support ticket by visiting our Help Center and we'll be happy to look into the permissions.
Just to confirm I understand it correctly, is the store you accidentally created associated with the email for the collaborator account? If so, I would advise against deleting your email. There's no way to do this within your admin, and would need an escalation, therefore wiping out your data in order to start fresh, may potentially create further issues. I would suggest having the store owner contact us, and we'll work with them to ensure you have the permissions you need to access the store.

Hi Summer, the live AI bot will only help me if I have a store, however, similar to OPs issue, I do not want to create a store. My company is trying to add me to their account and something went wrong when activating my email. I need to delete my email account so they can refresh on their end and resend the invite. I already cleared my cache/cookies.
