All things Shopify and commerce
Shopify gave me this alert to do with the CNAME that doesn’t point to Shopify and to change it from my domains DNS settings.
However when I go to change it, it won’t allow me to put in the details to point to Shopify because there is already a CNAME that starts with www, which is the template shopify has applied already and it won’t let me edit or delete it.
My question is should I remove the Shopify template? And add the CNAME I need to put for it to point to my shopify? Or will I lose everything and make a big mistake ?
Abit confused on what to do. I’ve contacted GoDaddy twice and they’ve told me they cannot edit or change the CNAME and that I need to contact Shopify. The only assistance they could provide was to remove the Shopify template which I can do myself, just not sure if that’s the right thing to do. Can anyone help ?
Hi @KlaudioL,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community. I'm happy to provide some assistance with your domain, to ensure this gets resolved. To confirm I'm fully understanding, are you still experiencing this issue?
If so, it's likely that the domain is still in the process of propagating to your shop. This can take up to 48 hours but sometimes longer, as the domain needs to be successfully verified. I was able to confirm however, that the DNS Records are all correctly pointing to Shopify. Due to this, I recommend allowing for some more time to pass to see if this helps to resolve.
If after another 24 hours, you continue to see those errors, please feel free to connect with us directly. This will allow our support team to take a closer look as we wouldn't have access to any account information here on the Community.
The connect with us, you can:
Head over to our Help Center.

Log into your shop.

Please let me know if you have any other concerns.

I have waited 48 hours to pass and the error message is still there. However you did say that all the DNS records are pointing to Shopify. So does this mean everything should be fine the way it is or do I still need to get the CNAME record changed to www.shops.myshopify.com. Currently it is www.myplush.online. Which is what Shopify has automatically put there for me which I cannot edit or delete, so is it okay to leave it like that or does this still need to be resolved
Hi @KlaudioL,
Thanks for the prompt response and sharing those additional details.
While I was able to confirm that the DNS Records are all correctly pointing to Shopify, I'd encourage you to connect with us directly. This will allow our support team to confirm that the domain has been successfully connected and no further action is required.
