If you don't want to run your online store anymore and also cancel your subscription then you can deactivate it at any time. After you deactivate your store, you won't have access to your Shopify admin and won't receive any refund for the amount you paid for the plan.
Just make sure that you pay any outstanding charges that you might have. If you have no outstanding charges against your account, then you won't receive a bill after deactivating your store
In order you want to log back in, then you will have to enter your credit card details and reactivate your store.
Great question, and I am more than happy to provide you with some clarity about how billing and plans changes work.
What would happen would entirely depend on where you are in your billing cycle. When merchants sign up for a long term subscription, we would consider this as them making a longer term commitment here. In the first 30 days, we may allow refunds and plan changes for those who happen to change their mind, however this is never guaranteed, as per our Terms of Service we do not offer refunds. When you enter into a long term subscription with Shopify, you are committing to being in that plan for the time period. Click here to explore more about plan changes.
If you deactivate your store or request a downgrade to a monthly plan, for example, and more than 30 days have passed since the invoice was issued, then you would not be eligible for a refund. In this case, if you are thinking about changing your mind about your plan, I would recommend getting in touch with our live support team at this link here. They can take a closer look at your account along with our billing team. May I ask is there is a specific reason as to why you might want to cancel the plan?
Aside from that, how is business going for you? Have you done any marketing on social media, or what has been your marketing plan so far? I would love to hear more about your goals and aims for 2022!
