All things Shopify and commerce
Hey All,
Hoping someone can help with this.
Our Shopify store's contact form is not working. It just won't send emails anywhere. This was brought up by a customer who was frustrated that we did not respond.
Is there troubleshooting steps I can take to try and fix this?
If your Shopify contact form isn’t working, follow these troubleshooting steps:
Verify Email Settings: Go to Settings > Notifications in your Shopify admin and ensure that the email address listed in the "Send order confirmations to" field is correct. Additionally, check Settings > General and make sure the email addresses listed under "Store contact" and "Customer email" are accurate. These are the addresses where contact form submissions should be sent.
Check Form Setup: Look for files like contact.liquid or contact-form.liquid in your theme. Ensure the form's action attribute is set to /contact and that the method is post. Confirm that the form includes the necessary fields such as name, email address, and message.
Inspect Spam Folder: Sometimes, contact form submissions might end up in your spam or junk folder. Make sure to check there.
Review Server and Hosting Settings: Verify if there are any filters or restrictions in your email server or hosting settings that could be blocking the emails.
Examine Form Data Transmission: Use your browser’s developer tools to inspect the network tab when submitting the form. Check if the data is being sent to the correct endpoint and in the correct format.
Consider Contact Form Apps: If the issue persists, try installing a contact form app from the Shopify App Store. There are several free options available that might resolve the issue.
Check Shopify Plan: In some cases, contact forms and subscription pages may not work correctly while the store is in development mode or on a trial plan.
If you’ve covered all these points and the issue still isn’t resolved, contacting Shopify support might be your next best step.
If it helps you, please like and mark it as the solution.
Best Regards

Hi BSSCommerce,
I'm getting the attached error in the Shopify code.
Could this be the culprit? How would I fix this?
I don't think that's the cause of your email error, but if you want to remove the warning, you can remove the red rectangle.
and change it
to
{%- form 'contact', id: 'ContactForm', class: 'outline-none' -%}

Hi I am super late to the party but just had the same issue. I figured out that the contact form submission goes to our mail. However we must select the All mail option instead of inbox. It is not in the junk mail. Once you go to all mail category, you must categorize the sender. It will then move all emails to inbox automatically. If you are using an iPhone, you would slide left on the email, press more, select categorize sender, and place in inbox or primary. I hope this helps. I will also post the link to my new business. I would appreciate any support https://seekingthekingdom.myshopify.com. Have a blessed day! 🙂
