Hi guys,

we have a big problem since yesterday evening. Somehow customers reported, that they can not go to the checkout or do not see their items on the cart page. We quickly found out that the cookie consent is a trigger for this problem. Never had this before, but if you allow everything, it still worked as usual. If you only accepted the necessary ones, the shop had the problem of not saving the items in the cart and if you put something in the cart and go to the cart page, you can not go to the checkout. Because if you refresh the cart page the item is gone, so if you request the checkout it will send you back to the homepage because there is nothing.

 

I know that the debut theme is the previous main theme before Dawn. But we can not change theme that easily. Does anybody have an idea, why that behaviour appears?

 

The thing is, if we call the .setTrackingConsent() function in the theme.js and set "marketing" to "true" it still works. It has nothing to do with the cookies set in the group in the new installed consent app.

 

So we are sure it has something to do with the Customer Privacy API in combination with our older theme that seems to not be 2.0 yet.

I called friends and contacted the cookie app developers but all told us to check with the theme developer that would be shopify. Also shopify support could not fix it easily and we are still waiting for a reply.

 

We are in a bit of shock right now, because yesterday everything was fine. Now we do not know how to fix it the right way. Because setting something manually is not the goal of the cookie plugin.

 

Also changing to Dawn theme right now would take a lot of time for us and if we can make it work with our "older" theme for now it would be great.

 

Anyone with an idea or solution to "fix" this isse? Would be really appreciated.
