All things Shopify and commerce
Hi All,
I am trying to create a sale collection page that shows all of my products that have a compare at price greater than the price. I know that it is possible to create a collection page with compare at price greate than $0 (https://help.shopify.com/manual/products/collections/create-sale-collection), but I need it to be greater than price. The reason is that all of my products have a compare at price, even if it is equal to the price, so that solution would not work.
Thanks,
Paul

Hey, Paul!
Stephanie here from Shopify.
Perhaps when you're placing your items on sale, you could also add a tag called 'sale' on the product. This way, you can create an automated collection where the condition is 'Product Tag is Equal to Sale". Then all products tagged with Sale will automatically appear.
Feel free to reach out to our support (http://bit.ly/2uVU8jk) if you have any other questions! We're available 24/7.
Hi Stephanie,
I understand your solution but it seems like a very manual one, and not ideal. Preferably, there would be some rule we can set to automatically retrieve all products with compare at price greater than price. Is this somethign that exists? I think that if it is possible then I could setup a new collection template and to setup the sale page.
I found this page, but not sure if it is the best solution. What do you think?

Paul, did you find a solution for this?
.
Hi Gabriel, no still no solution yet.
it's hard to believe this is still an issue,. such a basic feature from a request done 3 years ago...
What process do you use when you put your items on sale?
There are a few easy ways to automate what you are looking to do, but they depend a bit on your method for putting items on sale...
Agree, Why isnt there a filter for 'Product is on sale'
I'd recommend using an app - bulk product edit app by hextom you can set a rule to add products to a sale collection or tag them based on if they are on sale or not.
You can set the rule to run daily and another rule that does the opposite for products that are no longer on sale.
The other app that is definitely worth using is Power Tools - this allows you to create pricing and tagging rules in one, plus has heaps of other amazing features.
There are a few other ways to do it, but the above two are probably the easiest...
Hello all, I think our app Advanced Collection can help - https://apps.shopify.com/advanced-custom-collections
You can create a collection and include/exclude products where price is lower than compare at price, which also handles the case where there is a blank or zero compare at price. It auto-syncs every time you add / update a product in your shop, and acts like any other Shopify collection so you can apply discount codes or add it to your navigation.
For anyone that still needs this, you can create a custom collection template, then add an if statement that compares the current price and the compare at price, if current price is less than compare at price, show the product. (If you don't know how to do that, hire a developer, or pay for an app)
