Create a 'coming soon' page using the password page

Howdy

i am currently trying to add bg image / text and a heading or two to the password page to act as a sort of a coming soon page, but all code i add to the password, password-header, password-content and password-footer liquid pages doesnt seem to actually show / display on the password page, all iget is the standard white page, shopify logo and login using password box.

I have deleted all the code out of these pages and added in my own html and it still shows the white password page.

any ideas on how to get my design to show on this page?
