Create a separate shop frontend for a brand of an existing store?

Hi there,

I am running a shop and it is going well.

Now I have the idea of creating a separate shop for just one brand and all of its products I already have in my existing shop.

From users perspective, it should have:

- separate domain

- separate theme

- separate branding including mail templates and such

But I want to manage everything from my existing store:

- inventory (synced with existing store)

- orders

- fullfillment / backend

you get the idea. Ideally it would even share all the apps I use and pay already and also the shopify subscription.

It would be really helpful if someone could point me in a direction to look for something like this.

Hi Marta,

Thanks for the reply. Can you please elaborate a bit more on the "Shopify Multiple Stores" feature? I somehow can't find details about it. Is this an additional App. For example, how can I configure the inventory and order syncing?

Hi @RetroShirtsMan It can be done but with some limitations.

First of all there are 3 options through which you can achieve this, but all the options will have their advantages and limitations as well.

  1. You can add a market in the shopify and there you can add the language for that market along with the pricing and also if you want you can remove the products you want to and just show the product that you want to show. In this case you can't use the different theme, but you can use different domain and you can design the pages accordingly that will show to the customer that will access the store from that market. Just remember in this case there will be 2 pages 1 for all the customers and 1 for those from the market which will be different but in the same theme and also you can use the same apps and plan that you are currently using.
  2. You can use Multi Vendor Marketplace app, in this case you can have different theme, branding for that brand and can show the products you want to show, but there will be no different Domain. But there can be different page for different brand that you can create. In this case you have to pay extra for the app that you will be using i.e. Multi vendor app.
  3. The last option will be you can create a different store in that case you can have different domain, theme, template, but the issue will be that inventory will be different along with orders and you need to pay extra for the different store.

Hopefully I am clear with my points and you will get it.

If you need any assistance then please feel free to ask the same.

How would one go about setting up option #1. "You can add a market in the shopify and there you can add the language for that market along with the pricing and also if you want you can remove the products you want to and just show the product that you want to show. In this case you can't use the different theme, but you can use different domain and you can design the pages accordingly that will show to the customer that will access the store from that market. Sorry as I am new to this and am having a similar desire. I own a brand as well, but we also do promotional printing. I was looking to see if we can set up separate stores in another tab to showcase our promotional printing services without interference with the brand store with all of our brand clothing. I like the idea of using the same theme, would I still need to have a separate domain? or can I use the same one we are currently using? I am very interested in this option as #2 can cost more money which is fine but if I can avoid it and keep everything on the same theme, that would be great, I just need to know how to go about it.
