Creating RSS email with Mailchimp, but blog images are not displaying

I've been working on creating an RSS to email campaign with Mailchimp for my Shopify blog (sistergolden.com/blogs/blog). In Mailchimp's campaign builder, I have the option to use the merge tag *|RSSITEM:IMAGE|*, which pulls an image from the <media:content> tag on the Shopify blog. However, when I use this merge tag in my email campaign, no image shows up in the email. Could someone help me to figure out either (1) how to add the <media:content> tag to my blog images or (2) find another way to link my blog images into a Mailchimp email? Thanks so much in advance for your help!!

The user community is one reason I love SHopify so much.

A solution given to me by Mailchimp overnight to solve the the issue of Mailchimp campaigns  based on Shopify rss feed crashing outlook due to  image without http:// in front....)

This sorted our problem out perfectly:

As a workaround, however, we do recommend using a third-party service called RSS Mix (http://www.rssmix.com/) where you can add the URL for the blog and RSS Mix will scan that feed and add those http:// or https:// parameters, which should alleviate any issues with scanning the network.

The eChics are here to help

If your post doesn't have a ton of images you can just manually add the https:// protocol to the source code. But it has to be https:// specifically. If you use http:// , the source code changes back when you switch between editor and html. I use Feedburner and it worked for me.

Hey Jason,

This was SUPER helpful and got me up and running with a Blog Newsletter in Klaviyo.

Thanks!
