Custom Values on Product Pages

Hi, I'd like to know whether it's possible for a customer to type in a custom value rather than select a predetermined one. For example, we offer products that vary in size, from 2000mm to 7000mm. I'd like a customer to be able to type in any number between these two values. Currently, we have to go up in 100mm increments due to the 100 variant limit on Shopify. Is this natively available within the dawn theme, or alternatively is there an app available that would allow this?

This is absolutely possible! I recommend taking a look at an app like King Product Options (free!) to see if what they offer is suitable.

This can also be something coded directly into the theme file by a developer, which is an alternate option you could look into. 

A simple text box, with no validation, that customer can enter whatever into is pretty straightforward and there are a lot of apps that can quickly add that to your theme. You can also find a lot of code snippets you can add in yourself if you wanted to. Validating the entry, ensuring it meets the min/max requirements and ensuring that the field has a value before customers add to cart, is a bit more complex. Make sure to check with the app devs to ensure you are going to get the full functionality you need.
