Customer group with dynamic pricing

I'm in the process of building a Shopify store, and I want to implement a dynamic pricing feature based on customer groups. Essentially, I want to offer different pricing for wholesale customers compared to regular retail customers. How can I achieve this in Shopify? What are the steps involved in setting up multiple pricing tiers based on customer groups?

For regular stores the native behavior is you can only use manual discount codes as discounts for customer groups. It can be drastically saner to have either two shopify stores one regular the other wholesale, or two websites one shopify for regular customers then another locked down website using embedded shopify buy-buttons.

So customer would have to manually input the code. Or for the online sales channel only through advanced theme customizations inject the discount code for them before they enter checkout.

Go to Shopify admin > Discounts > Create Discount. Choose "Amount off products" or "Amount off orders", select "Discount code", and specify the discount value.

In "Customer eligibility", choose specific customer segments.

To have automatic-discount codes for customer segments you will need either a discount app, or a wholesale app to facilitate this as there are other features such as displaying the wholesale prices on product pages or hiding product that may be needed.

You can do this by two way

Discount

You can create automatic discount for users tagged with wholesale.

However feasibility of this is less when you have lots of product and you want to give different discount for most of product.

Note: discount code has limit to create.

Different product and flow

You can create totally different flow for your wholesale users by creating different product header and navigation.

This will need lots of customisation but you will able to solve many problems and benefits to user like.

No need to create lots of discount and since every product is different you will able to create variant.

Will able to to exclude tax for wholesale product and include tax for retail users.

Claiming tax is a major thing for wholesaler.

Able to show per unit price for more information

Hide the buy button for non logged in users etc.

Most interesting part is all this can be done using custom code in theme.
