Customer to customise product colour scheme before purchasing

I'm looking for a way for a customer to customise a product before buying where the product has three distinct parts and the customer selects three colours from a dropdown, or similar, and can see what the product will look like before placing the order. This colour scheme will then need to be carried through to the order so I can make it to their requirements. There must be something like that already out there? I'm using the Dawn theme. Any pointers will be much appreciated.

Hi @Anchoright 👋 There's plenty of stuff out there like this but it's all bespoke and requires custom setup even with off the shelf apps.

See any of the numerous apps for "product personalization" or "product options" or "product configuration" etc etc

A friction point will be custom images carrying through into checkout or external sales channels.

and can see what the product will look like before placing the order.

The sanest approach is if not already using all 3 product Options just make all 3 options separate colors then assign relevant images to each variant.

Keeping in mind the 100 variant limit still applies for most stores.

If the preview is not as critical and the colors do not affect prices or inventory etc use line item properties.

For previews that would require even more advanced theme customizations.
