customers are signing up on my website but they can not login

my customers are facing an issue about signing up, they sign up but then they can not login. when signing up, it says (This email address is already associated with an account. If this account is yours, you can reset your password) and when reseting the password it says, (No account found with that email. please help me out with this). the sign up, sign in is its built in in the theme. it was in the theme already. theme is called pukabop.
