Dawn Theme - How to show picture in Navigation dropdown?

Hi, I need help in making the navigation on my store.

 The navigation bar at the top looks like below which is so plain:

However i would like to add a picture to it so that it comes up to the side of the list of options, example below:

I hope this can be achieved without code changes, or if there is an app for it, would be interested to know more.
