Dawn Theme Video banner bleeding beyond image banner section

I wanted to add a banner video instead of the standard image banner so I used code from this article which worked to get the video option but when I add a video it takes up the entire screen and bleeds off the page and then into the footer. I just want the size of the video to be constrained into the medium size image banner size. 

I've tried to adjust the size of the video which helps but still makes extra space off to the right of the page.
