Debut Theme really slow to load (please help!!)

Hey guys, 

I'm using the Debut Shopify theme and everything has been great until recently. In the past few days my website is taking ages to load (we're talking 18 seconds for the homepage and 22 seconds for a collection page). As it stands my website isn't functional at all. I have no idea why this has happened - I haven't uploaded any new images or content, and I only have one app (which I've had for a while and had no issues with).  My online store speed is 69 which is stated as being the "same speed as similar stores". I've spoken to Shopify and one of the suggestions was to try a new theme. I've added another theme (dawn) and when previewing that theme the pages are loading quickly (as they should). I don't want to use another theme - I'm happy with Debut and I've spent so long working on this website - I can't imagine having to start all over again when I'm really happy with it. I don't want to lose all of my hard work. I would really appreciate any advice or suggestions!
