All things Shopify and commerce
Hi,
I'm working on my Print on Demand store and have a product that's made of two different materials. This product was published as two separate listings but I combined both under one listing by adding both materials as different variants. I also added the SKUs from the supplier so they'd stay synced.
Can I now safely delete the redundant page or make it inactive?
Hope this makes sense and thanks for any help!

This is an accepted solution.
Update: Ive just asked the folks at AOP+ and they confirmed that no, it would break the connection so combining their listings is NOT an option at this time.
Sucks but what are ya gonna do.
Hey, @Hudlum.
Welcome to Shopify Community.
Thank you for your question. In order to give you the best guidance possible, we will need a little more context from you. This way we can make sure nothing is missed, and you don't lose any data tied to the product in question.
Please answer the following:
This context is important because each app reacts differently to product syncing. For example, many apps are synced to a product through the SKU as you mentioned, and this is how they communicate to fulfill and sell the product.
If any additional information is modified in the Admin and not the app, or the product is not where the app expects it to be, we might run into some issues.
Let me know and I'd be happy to help you look into it further.
Warm regards,

Which Print on Demand app are you using?
- AOP+
Was the second product created by the app automatically?
- It was imported like all the other products. I then manually added it into a different listing for efficiency.
If so, it sounds like you have manually added the product and SKU to the other similar product as an override?
Right. That's what I would think. So I should be able to safely delete the redundant listing as the products in question are now placed inside a different listing, right?

Thanks for the update, @Hudlum.
I am glad you were able to get the information you need.
It definitely makes sense that the connection would break in this case, and I'm glad you were able to confirm that and catch it sooner than later.

I was so excited about Combined Listings, but this characteristic of the feature renders it useless. The whole idea would be to consolidate multiple sizes/colors under one page, so it doesn't clutter the collection page. But, since you can't hide the original product pages that you pull into a Combined Listing, that key benefit isn't satisfied. Is anyone actually using Combined Listings? I'd be curious to hear from them, but most that I've heard from can't use it because of this drawback.
