Deleted Pages

Hi all,

Accidentally I deleted on my shopify pages thinking it was empty, however, it was very important to the business. I am trying to recover it but Shopify tells me it is impossible to retrieve deleted pages.

My question: is it possible that with all the money that Shopify makes they still do not enable users to retrieve a lost/deleted page? Is somebody from their team working on this issue?

I understand how frustrating it is to lose a critical page, especially when there isn’t an easy way to recover it on Shopify. Currently, Shopify doesn’t have a built-in feature for restoring deleted pages directly from the admin dashboard, as once content is deleted, it's permanently removed from their systems.

However, here are a few potential options to recover or recreate the content:

1. Check for Cached Versions: Use the Wayback Machine (Internet Archive) or Google’s cached pages to see if the page was recently archived. This may allow you to recover some or all of the content, depending on how often it was crawled.

2. Backups with Third-Party Apps: Consider apps like Rewind, which provide automatic backups and can restore lost pages and other data. While this wouldn’t bring back your page today, it could prevent similar losses in the future.

3. Contact Shopify Support: Although Shopify officially states they can’t restore deleted pages, it might still be worth reaching out to their support team. They might have additional guidance or could connect you with a Shopify Expert who could assist with recreating the page based on previous data.

4. Search for Page Data in Search Engines: Sometimes, search engines like Google or Bing keep cached versions of your pages. Simply search for site:yourdomain.com/page-name in Google, click the dropdown arrow next to the result, and select “Cached.”
