Deleted Products no Longer Included in Reports

Has anyone noticed that deleted products are no longer included in historical reports? You can no longer look at last year and see what sold if you deleted the product. That used to not be the case. That datat is now just gone. Any way around this?

Hey Tarnish, I've just noticed this too. Did you find a work-around or hear anything from @Shopify ?

Temporarily … In the Analytics Overview there is a small icon at the top right of the screen by the CUSTOMIZE button. It looks like a megaphone. Click on that and it will take you back to the old reporting. Apparently, going forward everyone will be moved to the new report system that will no longer recognize deleted products, which imo makes the reports useless.
So if you don’t want to lose the data, you can’t clean up your old skus 😞

I no longer see this option - that megaphone button doesn't go back to the old reports, it just gives me a pop-up that says, "Act faster with real-time data, Tailor your store’s Analytics dashboard, and Explore more flexibly than ever in Reports".

However, I'm noticing that I can still access data with my deleted products in some places.

For example, "Total Sales by Product Variant" report doesn't include deleted products. However, I can get the same information in the "Sell-through rate by product" report, which does include the deleted products. And if you download your old orders in the Orders page, they also include deleted products.

It's not ideal, and I wish Shopify would put this information into their new reports. But those workarounds exist for now.

The "Total Sales by Product Variant" isn't a great workaround because it doesn't include returns/refunds. Would really like a fix to this so that we can do our annual reporting!

My deleted items aren't showing anywhere anymore. I can no longer do reports from events in the past to see what I've sold! This is frustrating as the reports are not accurate anymore.

The work around is now gone. The deleted products no longer show in reports 😞
