Hi, I'm having an issue with GMC and deleted products showing up during googles crawl of the site. There's 5 products total that have been deleted for 2 weeks. I thought things cycled through since only one showed up a couple days ago and then it was no longer there. However, today it seems they have all reappeared. I'm confused on how to remedy this. I have limited experience with what happens in the background. I've resubmitted the sitemap and I've tried to find the pages manually but get "This page doesn't exist". Any help would be greatly appreciated considering it affects the SEO of the site in Google. Thanks!
The GMC web crawler is not very advanced.
Deleting a product in GMC, will indeed show the product again, if the product exists on the website.
Also note, the web crawler will have delays of several weeks.
If you want to exclude it from the feed, then add a supplement feed with the id column and excluded destination column. And add the same id value and as the excluded destination value, add Shopping_ads

However, you can also do it easier in Shopify by adding a collection which contains the deleted products. And add this collection as a exclusion, using this app: https://apps.shopify.com/multiple-google-shopping-feeds
Thanks for the reply! The problem is the products have already been deleted on the shopify side 2 weeks ago. They just keep showing up in the GMC product list as disapproved. Today they are gone again so hopefully it fixed itself.
Yes, that is to be expected, the web crawler does not check every product every day, but over a span of 30 days. So expect delays like this again.
Consider using a professional data feed tool mentioned in the previous post, to avoid such delays.
I have the same issue. The product was deleted from Shopify more than a year now. I disconnected the Google Merchant account from Shopify a year ago since the deleted items kept popping up there. After a year we decided to reconnect our Google Merchant account with Shopify again, and the deleted product appeared on Google Merchant again... Any suggestions on how to fix it? I am at loss at this point.
Considering this is a bug with Shopify, I recommend in this case to contact Shopify support to fix the bug.
