Did I get double billed after changing my plan?

Hi, I accidentally changed my plan to "pause and build", but switched back to basic. I got a notification that I was billed the yearly subscription again, despite having been billed already for May 14, 2022 to May 14, 2023. Was I charged twice? Can someone help?

I cannot say for certain what may have occurred, as we cannot access stores from the forums here ourselves. Shopify Subscription Fees are paid in advance, and you will be charged on each billing date for all outstanding Fees that have not previously been charged. Your best bet is to check your Settings > Billing tab in your admin to see a breakdown of your subscriptions charges. On upgrading, we issue you with an immediate invoice that will charge you the prorated difference between the plans for the remainder of your current billing cycle.

i didnt even open my online shop started as advanced and changed to basic and they billed me two times more then 400$ as advanced even though i changed and it was a error on there behalf and then they wouldn't take any responsibility for it just makes you not want to work with a company that wants to drink and scam there own clients
