Different languages for internacional users.

Hi there, I have 2 languages on store.

/ - for portuguese
/en - english

I would like to if user is from Portugal, here will see in Portuguese but if an user is out of Portugal he must see in english.

I tried to swap en to primary for internacional market but i couldnt. ( button is disabled)

Any guidance on this?

For now I have just added a script that if user is not PT url redirects to /en but its just an hack that does not feel good at all.

a proper solution would be using Shopify Markets and Geolocation App. Here’s what you can do:

1. Enable shopify markets – Go to Settings > Markets and set Portugal as a separate market with Portuguese as the default language.
2. Use shopify’s geolocation app – This will suggest the right language based on the visitor’s location instead of forcing a redirect.
3. Change primary market settings – If Shopify doesn’t allow switching the primary language, try duplicating your English content and making it the default for all international markets.
4. Consider a third-party app – Apps like Langify provide automatic language redirection with a smoother experience
