Different pricing based on online or in person sales

Hi all,

Currently I use Shopify for all online sales and Square for in person sales at farmers markets.  I have different pricing at either location i.e. at farmers markets I have a product $8.00 but online at $7.99, I don't want to be bothered by pennies, nickels and dimes for cash sales in person.  My products have no tax on them in my state, so everything comes out to the dollar.  I'd like to use Shopify for in person sales, but can I have two pricing tiers?  Would creating a second location make that possible?  I'm on Shopify basic plan and would use the POS app on my phone only, no full register system.

Freddie here from the Shopify Support team, happy to help.

You can achieve this by duplicating your products, so there is essentially 2 of each product in your admin. You would want to price one of the products for your online store, and the other for POS. Simply edit which Sales Channels the product is visible on to separate your POS items from showing up on your Online Store, and vice versa.

To duplicate your products:

1. From your Shopify admin, go to Products.

2. Click the name of the product that you want to duplicate.

3. Click Duplicate.

4. Enter a name for the duplicate product, and then click Duplicate.

5. Modify the product details.

6. Click Save.

So, for your products that you'd like on your POS, price them accordingly and edit their visibility so they only are available on your POS. For your products you'd like to offer on your online storefront at their separate prices, make sure to edit their visitibity so they are only available on your storefront.

I agree that this is not a fix. It causes plenty of new problems. I have more than just a few products and need to edit them as they change over time. I can’t duplicate and then edit the doubles, too. 

I have three locations: the POS Store, the POS at markets/conventions and the Webshop. 

I need a solution to determine prices by location. Shouldn’t be that hard. Just give us a price field for each location that we activate and show that on the respective location’s display. 

@Freddy Can you recommend a well-working plugin that does this?
