Disable Auto Select Variant in Refresh Theme

I don't want any variants to be selected on my product page, but I can't figure out how to do it.

Can you help me?

I use the Refresh theme.

This will require updating the theme files. This is currently not fesible on the default the. By default "selected" or "first available variant" will be default selected.
