Discount added in the cart but does not show on the product

Hi, 

I'm quite new on Shopify.

I'm using the Zendrop theme and when I add a discount in Shopify it doesn't show on the product but is first shown when a product is placed in the cart.
I know that I can change the price on the product and then it shows a discount price, but it seems to be a complex way to do it. And it also doesn't show a discounted price in the cart then. The other thing is also, that If I do so, I cannot add a regular discount that is shown in the cart, because then it will put a discount on the discounted price - like double it.
I would like to show the discount for the customer before they choose to put it in the cart and I would like to show the the discount in the cart and how much you save, without drawing double discount.
I hope my explanation makes sense and that anyone knows how to combine this?
