Hey! I have a discount code that is supposed to apply 20% off of one item, instead it’s 20% off total purchase.. how can i fix this??

Hi @hayleess

That's a great question! When you setup or go back in to edit the discount code you have the option to set what the discount will apply to. You can choose for it to be either applied to the whole order, a specific collection of products or a single product (as seen in my screenshot below).

As we move closer to the holiday season it is important to remember that the native checkout can only support one discount code (automatic or manual) in the cart at any time. If you need to run multiple discounts you will want to look in the app store for an app that can help you with that.

Hey, thanks for the fast response but i don’t think that covers what I’m needing. I have a code that everyone uses that bought a certain card… they use that code at checkout and they are supposed to get 20% off ONE item, instead they are receiving 20% off their whole order. It’s not just off of certain products or collections-they can use it on anything in the online store.

Hey there, it sounds like you want to use some form of a BOGO/BXGY offer.

The Buy item would be that certain card you're referring to and the Get would be any product at 20% off.
Don't forget to set the maximum uses per order if you only want it to apply once!
