DNS not verifying after two days

Trying to add my third party domain name.

I've searched other threads but am still uncertain if I've done this correctly.

I had my domain registrar help me two days again ( 48 hours ago ).

He said it could take up to 12 hours. So I'm getting worried that something has gone wrong.

Can someone help me?

This seems more difficult than the instructions implicated.

Hi, @RealBluntcard,

Hank here from Shopify.

Thank you for the screenshot, this allowed me to see what the issue is and offer assistance with this.

The issue is that you have more than one A record associated with your DNS settings. Once you have more than one, this creates an issue where your domain is attempting to point to numerous servers. You only need one A record with a value of 23.227.38.65 which I see you do have, so you would just need to remove all of the other A records as shown below.

31-44-2w1gg-y4i3l

Your CNAME record is correct, and the top value you have for the A record. So simply delete/remove all in the Red X section, and save your changes.

Once you have edited your DNS records, the domain propagation can begin, which can take up to 72 hours but normally is faster than this.

Then let me know if there is still an issue, and kindly share your store URL and I can test this on my end.

All the best,

Hank

Thank you so much for getting back so fast.

I am going to have g-suites host my email for this domain. Will it be affected if I remove all of the remaining A records?

You are very welcome!

Removing the A records should not affect your Gsuite, but your domain host should be able to confirm that.

Normally your email goes through the TXT or MX fields within the DNS settings, and as mentioned the A record points to your store hosting domain (in this case, Shopify).

I hope this helps but let me know if there are any additional questions!

Unfortunately for me, after waiting 72 hours, there has been no verification of my domain.  So, I guess I have to figure out what my options are.  Is the verification waiting for my domain registrar to update something from their end?  Should I transfer my domain to Google or someone more reputable?

Any troubleshooting or suggestions from anyone would be much appreciated. My products and promotional inserts all have bluntcard.com printed on them.

I know this is resolvable. Thank you anyone for any input!

Thank you for reaching back out about this.

Since my above suggestions, did you remove all of the A records? Can you share with me an updated screenshot, or your store URL and I can see if I can locate what the issue might be?

BTW I'm still on my free trial. I haven't activated the shop yet. Is that a possible reason why it won't connect with my domain name?

www.bluntcard.com is my domain

I guess I'll contact my registrar again and see if this is an issue on their side.

Thank you for sharing the above.

I am not able to access any of the links you have shared, so I am starting to believe that the issue is linked to your registrar or DNS settings.

Has your domain host advised of any potential issue with the domain?

I'm thinking it's probably the registrar, too.

They haven't advised me of any issues, but I think they aren't inputting the updated info, somehow. I'll contact them. Thank you.

Thank you Hank. I really appreciate your help.

So, the issue was that my nameservers were still pointing at my old hosting service, so my registrar corrected that for me and now everything is working as it should.

Thank you again.

Not a problem my friend, that is what I am here for.

It is awesome to hear that this issue was to do with the DNS settings, great work getting your hosting site to update the details, and get your website pointing correctly.

Best of luck with your website, and don't hesitate to reach out via the forums should you need us again!

Hi, @!

Are you able to check your DNS settings with Cloudflare and ensure it matches the below please -

A RECORD - 23.227.38.65
CNAME RECORD - shops.myshopify.com

Have you also reached out to Cloudflare regarding the domain issue also?

I thank you for your response.
We have written to them, but we don't know when they will respond.
I think it will be better if we use our own servers instead of cloudflare.
The SSL service will already be provided by shopify.

Our CNAME is

shops.myshopify.com

Is it true?

We can change it with correnteshoes.myshopify.com

Hi,

Please ensure your CNAME is exactly as stated below -

  • shops.myshopify.com

The A and CNAME Records I provided in the previous post are the standard ones we require.

We canceled the Cloudflare service and started managing it through our own server. I am sharing with you the latest settings that we have made right now. We are very sorry that we were unable to activate our store during the shopping week.

Should it be like this?

"SSL Pending"  message does not go off the screen

We have starter edition Shopify Package

We have a beginner-level Shopify package.
Could it be that ssl service is not being received?

You can only have one A record. The first one is right but you need to delete the others.
