does site need a redesign?

My friend has www.urturt.com which needs some work, so Im trying to redesign it as a Christmas present.  He has a webmaster who ays everything is good and his site is great, while im trying to convince him otherwise.  What say you?

Id like to set up 2 blogs, a News Section and an Events Section.  How do I set that up? And how make it so that (On past Events)  that page would link to a "wrap up" page?

@Luke28 "shop performance" is about loading speed, it isn't for any arbitrary business needles.

Please remove the label if editing available all it does is add noise to people looking for the real topic of performance.

For blogs see the manual:

https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/online-store/blogs

A link on blog pages ,to "Past events" ,should be in it's own post but probably done with a custom-liquid section or theme customization.

See any the existing posts on adding links or customizing blog templates for specific themes.

The sites homepage looks fine, and has a strong hero image; it could be tweaked slightly to encourage scrolling as the CtA is belowthefold when the page loads.

Not counting whatever is going on with the "for the amphibious" section with 6x products showing row by row instead of a column grid.

Redflags, you should stay out of it.

Your asking about aesthetics from strangers for something that should be based on actual business metrics.

Most strangers are gonna pick it apart so they can sell the solution.

And you bring no metrics to back up your position.

While dismissing the words of the actual expert the friend pays and doing it while asking how to do something as basic as making a blog on a shopify store.

And your doing it while excluding your friends opinion on the matter who actually owns the business and is really the only opinion that matters.

So ends up sounding like your trying to impress your friend with "expertise" or some other agenda

That is not a recipe for success, step back and put together proof or find a better way of creativity output.
