Drawbacks to signing up using a partner's affiliate link?

Hey all,

So I have a Shopify link that lets me sign up to Shopify for a free month, but I'm not sure if using it will lead to any problems on my end.

For example, does a portion of what I earn go to the person who referred me?

Does it affect how I can use the Shopify platform?

Does it affect traffic to my site works?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thank you,

Mohamad

No to all, and affiliates payout is from shopifys side of things not the merchants there are no price increases.

For ALL new stores traffic is only affected in the sense that the storefront locked with a password regardless if it was created through an affiliate link.

This is also completely different from development stores which are created by partners and setup on a merchants behalf, which do have very specific limitations.

To clarify by payout I mean commission percentage from shopify to the affiliate, it's not a merchant to affiliate thing affecting things a stores plan price.
