Dubai, UAE - Payment Gateway

Hi All,

Hope you are well. I 'm currently using Paypal and Tap Payments for my dropshipping store in Dubai. However, Tap is teh worst thing ever, like 70% of the payments get declined and I am loosing so many orders and customers. I have also tried 2Checkout however, they have rejected my application. Can you please suggest what is the other good and reliable option ?

Hyde here from Shopify. Interesting question!

We do have a list of payment gateways that readily integrate with Shopify here.

However, if you do find a third-party gateway you'd like to use that isn't listed here, you could try reaching out to them to see if they'd still provide you with a service and which you could try implementing on your store with their help or with an expert.

Shopify Experts are a team of third-party developers who can make custom changes to your store on a contracted basis. They may be able to develop a custom solution for your payment gateway issue or may have access to an already existing integration that I'm unaware of. As with all Expert contracts, requirements and prices are agreed upon before any work commences, so you can always check in with a few different Experts to ensure you're getting what you want for a competitive price.

If you are having business trade license in UAE, you may go for PayTabs or Payfort.
They works well for UAE customers.

I am facing the same problem in UAE, checkout.com has rejected my application and there seems to be really no reliable payment getways here. Did you manage to resolve your problem?

You need a trade license and bank account and open payment gateway accounts with:

PayTabs, PayFort, CCAvenue

How is trade license in Dubai obtained for a shopify business? I've heard getting a trade license in Dubai is crazy expensive and a chaotic tedious process and requirements.

You can get ecommerce trade license in Dubai from Free Zone for USD 2.5k to 3K per year. If you are a Dubai resident now you can get etrader license for just AED 2000 per year which is USD 544.

Isn't the E-trade license just for a UAE national?

UAE is just stealing people’s money. They are charging dhs 4800 but in the end they are rejecting the online trade business application. UAE is doomed. They are in a huge financial meltdown. Declared bankruptcy. People are leaving UAE in thousands everyday

Hey MAQ_UAE, i really really need your help. I’m trying to start an e commerce business on shopify in UAE. I’ve read in some websites that it’s illegal to do business in e-commerce without an e-commerce license in UAE. Is that true? If it is, then it is impossible to pursue my dreams. 

Also is it possible to complete your account information and start doing business with only a credit card/paypal and not providing any banking information? 

Please answer this, i’m in so much stress. I saw everywhere on the internet that you can start an e commerce business right now and that anybody could do it. No one mentioned a license. I had my hopes up that i could finally achieve something.

 Ivoryvictoria You need a trade license for doing any business in UAE. It's illegal to do a business without a trade license. 

You can get a trade license from any freezone authorities which will comes in between 9k to 12k per year. If you are living in Dubai, you can check https://dedtrader.ae/index/ for etrader license.

What if i m staying in uae but my drop shipping business is only within US, meaning no products are being sold in uae or from uae on my website and its only for the customers in US, do i still need to get an ecommerce trading license in uae?

If i don't open payment gateway with bank( business bank account ) i can't use the CC Avenue or PayTabs,2 Checkout as gateway payment for my online store in UAE?

No. You need a commercial bank account and trade license.

I'm in UAE, but I have opened a company in the UK with way less than what it would cost me here, got an international bank account too, my customers are mostly in the Middle East and the US, tried Stripe and it worked for a couple of weeks until they blocked my account and they said the reason is  "high risk level"

Still looking for another gateway payment
