All things Shopify and commerce
I am looking to update the cname info as directed by a shopify email I have received.
I believe that the domain is hosted by shopify but have no ability when I am in shopify/settings/domains/[domain name] to edit any information.
my domain name is hillsidequilting.com.au
Help!
Hey, @dave116.
Thanks for reaching out and posting this question!
If the domain was purchased from Shopify, then you can follow these steps to edit the DNS settings for your Shopify-managed domain. However, if you're not seeing the option to edit the DNS, then it's possible that your domain is purchased from a third-party. While we're unable to access merchant accounts on the Shopify Community, I was able to use WHO.IS, a free public domain lookup tool, to check the domain (hillsidequilting.com.au) and it seems it may have been purchased from Crazy Domains.
I can also see Shopify's CNAME record and I didn't notice any problems visiting your storefront. if you're still experiencing any issues with connecting a third-party domain to Shopify, then simply get back to me here and I'd be happy to take a look. You can also reach out to the domain provider for assistance with editing the DNS for your domain.
That being said, do you have a marketing plan prepared for your store? Have you considered using something like Shopify Inbox to interact with customers live on your store?
