Email Marketing Campaigns

Hello! I am fairly new to Shopify and have some questions about the email marketing. Not sure if it matters what theme we are using or not but we are using the Taste theme.

When creating an email:

1 - Is there a way to alter the size of images either with or without text?

2 - Is there a way to move the text under the small square image rather than to either side?

3 - Is there a way to change the color of the section backgrounds?

After the email is sent and regarding the analytics:

How do I find out the:

              - open rate

              - engagement

              - bounce backs

              - unsubscribes

While your Shopify theme (Taste) doesn’t affect email design, the email marketing platform you use does — so I’ll tailor the answer to Shopify Email, since that’s built-in and beginner-friendly. Email Design in Shopify Email
1. Can You Alter Image Sizes?
Sort of! In Shopify Email:

. You can’t resize images precisely with drag handles like in Canva or Mailchimp.

. But you can:

. Use the “Image with Text” or “Image” blocks.

. Try uploading images that are already resized (recommended: 600px wide for full-width).

. Set alignment and width scaling (some blocks have % width dropdowns).

Use Canva or Photoshop to resize/crop before uploading — Shopify Email doesn’t have cropping tools.

2. Move Text Under Image Instead of Beside It?
Yes — use the “Image with Text” block, then:

. In the block settings, select "Text below image".

. If the text appears next to it, click the block and change layout settings or try a different template block.

3. Change Background Colors?
Absolutely!

. Click into the section of the email (each block is usually in a section).

. On the right-hand side (design panel), you’ll see a “Background color” option.

. You can change it to any color code, use presets, or even add your brand’s HEX code (like #f5f5f5 or #fff).

Email Analytics in Shopify Email
After you send an email, here’s how to view your metrics:

How to Access:
Go to:
Shopify Admin → Marketing → Campaigns → [Click Your Email Campaign]

You’ll see metrics like:

Metric | What It Shows
Open Rate | % of recipients who opened your email
Click Rate | % of opens that clicked a link
Unsubscribes | Count of people who unsubscribed
Bounces | Emails that weren’t delivered (wrong email, blocked, etc.)

Note: Shopify Email tracks unique opens and clicks, so numbers may be a little lower than other platforms like Klaviyo which can inflate totals via multiple opens.
