Thanks for reaching out.
Just to gather some additional context, would you be referencing emails from your customers or from Shopify staff members? Also, would this email be used for email-forwarding through a domain? Typically, if the domain is ending in *@Gmail.com or *@yahoo.com for example, the emails should still flow through without any errors.
Looking forward to your reply.
Thanks for the quick reply.
In this case, if the store is not live and is protected by a password page, the application should still function allowing customers to email you directly through the provided email above. However, if the store is closed the application functions will be paused, defaulting in the emails not being received.
Let me know if you have any additional questions, happy to help.
I attempted to send an email to that email address and it did not work. Is it not that kind of email? Do I have to only access it through the app?
This would depend on a couple of things, if the email in use is connected to a domain - the email will need to have email forwarding for a Shopify-managed custom domain or email hosting from a third-party domain provider. With that being said, since I cannot directly authenticate you for you the store in question to take a further look at the setup, I would suggest that you reach out to our support by logging into the store using our Contact Us page. This will allow us to securely verify you as the store owner before discussing the functions of the email that is in use.
Let me know if you have any trouble.
