We are used to Shipstation that allows you to enter package weights in lbs and Oz. Ex 1lb 3oz

Is there a way to do this in shopify?

I only options for lbs OR ozs. Any suggestions?

This is an accepted solution.

Shopify does not have a built-in feature to enter package weights in the combined format of pounds and ounces. However, there are a few workarounds you can use to achieve the desired functionality:

Use a Weight Conversion App
There are several third-party apps available in the Shopify App Store that allow you to convert weight units within Shopify. One popular app is "Weight Based Shipping" by Zuzor. This app lets you enter weights in various units, including pounds and ounces, and then converts them to the base unit used by Shopify for shipping calculations.

Use a Custom Weight Field
You can create a custom field in your Shopify admin to enter the combined weight in pounds and ounces. For example, you could create a custom "Weight (lbs & oz)" field on the product page. Then, you would need to write a script or use a third-party app that can parse the entered value and convert it to the appropriate weight unit used by Shopify for shipping calculations.

Create a Weight Conversion Script
If you're comfortable with coding, you can create a custom script or snippet that converts the weight from pounds and ounces to the base unit used by Shopify. This script can be integrated into your Shopify theme or used in combination with a custom weight field.

Here's a basic example in Javascript:

function convertWeightToOunces(lbs, oz) {
  const totalOunces = (lbs * 16) + oz;
  return totalOunces;
}

// Usage
const weight = convertWeightToOunces(1, 3); // Output: 19 (ounces)

You can then use this converted value when setting the product weight in Shopify.

Use a Third-Party Shipping Solution
If you're heavily reliant on the pounds and ounces weight format, you might want to consider integrating a third-party shipping solution like ShipStation or ShipWorks with your Shopify store. These solutions often provide more flexibility in weight entry and can be directly integrated with Shopify.

While Shopify does not have a built-in option for entering combined pounds and ounces, the workarounds mentioned above should allow you to achieve the desired functionality. However, keep in mind that some of these solutions may require additional setup or coding effort.

Configuring the weight as 1.19 pounds or 19 ounces, will that work for you?
