Error when trying to install facebook pixel

Pretty complicated problem.

This is what i did trying to install the facebook pixel, from video tutorial i was told to install Facebook channel from the apps section https://i.imgur.com/VWc26ty.png , then i watched another video, i saw that he had a section where you can simply copy the pixel id https://i.imgur.com/kBvsk3j.png , i dont have that section, instead i have a button called "Set up Facebook" https://i.imgur.com/3pDJ6hO.png , i thought maybe that section disappeared because i installed Facebook channel from the apps section, so i uninstalled Facebook channel. Now i think that section has been removed by shopify and the only way to install the pixel is to go thru all that many steps in Facebook channel. The problem is that now when i click "Set up Facebook" button this error appears https://i.imgur.com/ErttRTi.png , the same when i click on Facebook from Sales Channels https://i.imgur.com/Pr53hhL.png . Is this happening because i installed and uninstalled Facebook channel? Why is this happening? Thanks for your help

I'd start with the basic troubleshooting steps to address the error. 

  • Clear cache/cookies, restart the browser
  • Use Google Chrome Incognito mode
  • Use a different browser 

If none of the above allow you to access the channel, then please contact Shopify Support. You can do this by logging into your store through the help center, searching your question/issue, then selecting "continue" at the bottom of the page that displays the search results. 

If the troubleshooting does allow you access, then you'll want to follow our guide here on how to set up the Facebook Channel and pixel. We also have a Table of Contents that provides information on the permission you'll need in order to successfully set up the channel. 

Start there, make sure you have all the proper permission enabled in your account, then try setting up the channel.
