All things Shopify and commerce
Hey Everyone,
The last 15 days have been tough. Everything was running smoothly on my store, and the Facebook pixel tracked perfectly until September 6th, when it suddenly stopped. Sales dropped to zero, even though there were clicks but no landing page views.
I use the Facebook & Instagram app to integrate the pixel with Shopify and never made any changes. Between September 6th and 10th, I had sales, but the pixel didn’t track them. Shopify and Facebook support said everything is fine, but I’ve had 37 sales with no tracking. Should I switch to manual tracking? The issue is, I have products with different prices, and manual tracking only supports one specific value. I really need help!
Hi @Aftababd
I'm sorry to hear about the challenges you've been facing with your Facebook Pixel tracking and the subsequent drop in sales since September 6th. It's frustrating when things suddenly stop working, especially when no changes were made on your end. Let's delve into some potential solutions to get your tracking back on track.
Sometimes, the integration between Shopify and Facebook can encounter glitches. Uninstalling and then reinstalling the Facebook & Instagram app can help reset the connection. Here's how:
This process can often resolve tracking issues by refreshing the integration.
Ensure that the Pixel is correctly installed and active:
If the app-based integration isn't capturing all events, manual integration might be a solution:
However, as you've noted, manual tracking can be limiting, especially with products of varying prices. Each event would need to be configured to capture dynamic values, which can be complex.
There are apps designed to enhance Pixel tracking capabilities:
These apps can provide more robust tracking solutions compared to the default integration.
Sometimes, other apps or custom code can interfere with Pixel tracking:
If these steps don't resolve the issue, it might be beneficial to consult with a Shopify expert or developer who specializes in Pixel integrations. They can perform a thorough audit of your store's setup and identify any underlying issues.
I hope these suggestions help you restore your Facebook Pixel tracking and get your sales back on track. If you need any other assistance, feel free to reply and I will try my best to help.
Best regards,
Daisy
