Hello, I've been struggling lately trying to link the store to my Facebook page.

I followed all the procedure in shopify via the "sales channel +". the facebook shop and instagram shopping both show as ACTIVE.

But when i open the "customize Shop" and go to the commerce manager page the store show up as Unpublished. And I get a message from Facebook saying:

"shop updates can't be published because your commerce account didn't pass our standard review", no explanations or any other option to know what is wrong or not in compliance with their policy. Some of my products ( simple tshirt) also just got the " Not approved " stamp don't now why?

What can one do to get the shop working with Facebook and get then to approve/ allow publishing of the store?

Any help or advise is welcome as i exhausted all the options i could think of. Thanks!

Facebook and insta both active on shopifyFacebook and insta both active on shopifyunpublished error in facebookunpublished error in facebookError/ no option to publish within the mannager commerce accountError/ no option to publish within the mannager commerce account

Yes, you should be able to use Facebook ad. They want you to spend money .
When you get enough likes and followers they will approve Facebook and
Instagram shop. But I do not know what the specific number of them is
needed to be qualified.

Yes. I paid for ads for almost a year before I was approved. Tommy B. McDonell, Leap4artnc LLC

One year?!! Would you tell me more details ? Like how many followers or
likes did you get to be approved? FB people gave you specific numbers?

Thanks

Do you know if I simply delete my items from my catalog will  that get my commerce account approved. I have plenty of other products.

Why don’t you try? It might work. Did they give you specific reasons? In my
case, they just gave a general reason saying I have to meet FD
requirements…There are so many of them. After I sent 10 emails then one
guy was nice enough to tell me the reasons. Did you know the fact if your
page was created within 30 days, they wouldn’t approve your page.

I know that is FB rules but Shopify people should know but they never said
that. Start Shopify and link it to FB or Instagram. Sounded so easy but it
is not that simple…..

Good luck,man

I deleted the items they said that will help. I know what the issue is now its a brand new page. I have another business page I had for years that is good to use I believe. I'm not using it . I'm thinking of just taking it and changing the name and use that page instead. Hopefully I can remove that other page on shopify side and just start over. I messed up and already asked for another review. Is that only one review rule set in stone? im not stressing pinterest approved me for a shop and is running fine. Also gave $100 in free ad credits lol. Thanks for your help

That is good. At least you have another page. I am not quite sure if you
can change page name once it created. But you can try. I have been a little
over 2 months since I joined Shopify but 14 days trial is too short for me.
Now I know how FB ad works and all requirements.

I am about to try Pinterest. When the company got so big, they try to
control people. That is crazy.

The main thing is like stated in above comment. Make sure you have enough followers and page for at least a month. I was able to get my Instagram approved with another business page I had. I did in on Instagram on mobile just have to enter items manually. For some reason all my accounts are linked to my main Facebook. Still waiting to see if Facebook will approve me i had another business page. Just make sure to reach out to Facebook before you do appeal. They will send you links to double check everything.  The link to commerce customer server is on the solved post comment here. Other then that I'm not tripping. I have  a Pinterest shop and Instagram. Being that Facebook owns Instagram. Its not the end of the world if Facebook don't approve me .I'm sure the shops are linked somewhat. now I'm just gonna focus on conversion ads on Pinterest ,Facebook and Instagram and scale lol. thanks for all the help guys

Oh boy. Your case is much tougher than my case. Yes, I have same situation.
I can run FB ads but not shop. You can manually post your products on your
FB page but you can not transfer your products automatically nor installed
shop buttons until FB approves it. I totally understand It doesn’t make
any sense but A big company like FB doesn’t care about our small
businesses. They want our money but not shop.

Hey, thank you for the feedback. Where did you appeal the business commerce decision? I was denied and I have not even added any products to my store. How can they deny me when I havent even finished setup. I appealed once but can't seem to find a place to request a review. But what are they going to review if I haven't added inventory? Was I denied for not having any inventory yet, I don't know. They did not give a denial reason, just denied. I want to ask what was the actual denial. Who do I reach out to? Can you please direct me to where you appealed please. Thank you

I'm having similar issues. They approved me for Instagram shopping, I set up a shop on Instagram, then rejected my commerce account and took my Instagram shop down. I managed to speak to someone on the phone from Facebook. I can't remember how I managed to speak to a real life human because their help section is so confusing. They even have a page when you go through the help pages on the business centre and it states "Need more help? Contact us"with no method on how to contact them, which would have still been as useful as them saying "are you hungry? Have an apple". Anyway the person I spoke to said I should get more followers and some reviews as I needed to demonstrate trustworthiness. She said once I have done that then submit for another review. So I went away and did that, submitted for a review and it got rejected again. Then I started getting more sales and reviews so I emailed them to ask if I could get it reviewed again and they said I am only entitled to one review and I have to wait and see if they open it up in the future to get another review. Why wasn't I told that I am only entitled to one review? I asked them, they kept side stepping the questions I asked like a dodgy politician. The thing I find weird though is I can tag products on Facebook, can share products on Facebook, can sell on Facebook Marketplace place but I am not eligible to have a shop which does the same thing and also can't tag products on Instagram.and that was the account I was approved for.  I've been emailing back and forth for a week and they still haven't answered the questions I've asked. I'm just totally confused by it, Google Merchant account approved, Pinterest Verified Business approved, Shopify approved, Etsy approved, Ebay approved, Yell approved, Barclays approved and Facebook have stricter eligibility criteria than every other company.  Also my brother has less followers than me on Insta and Facebook and no reviews on there, yet his commerce account has been approved lol
