Facebook didn't approve a product. Where do I go to appeal that?

Facebook approved my original chocolate bar, but not my sea salt chocolate bar.  I can't figure out why, because the descriptions are identical (copy/paste) except for "enhanced with sea salt".  I can't figure out where on Facebook to appeal this.  Can anyone either help me understand why this product wasn't approved, or tell me where on Facebook to go to appeal it?

Thanks

Hi, @pmartensen!

Julie here from Shopify Support.

I'm sorry to hear you're having issues publishing one of your products on the Facebooks sales channel. Was there any error message indicating why the product was rejected? You should be able to view this from the Publishing page in the Facebook sales channel.

Unfortunately, I have seen instances where Facebook has denied products for unknown, and seemingly inaccurate, reasons. Typically, the reason would be something like, "Can not be published. Please contact Facebook for more information". If this is the case, then as a troubleshooting step, I recommend using the Facebook Sharing Debugger.

The Facebook Sharing Debugger is a tool that will allow you to “scrape” the product and may give you more information about why it was denied. Using this tool, you’ll just want to paste the link to the product that wasn't approved (just make sure to use the .myshopify.com URL when linking the product). Once you’ve done this, you should see a message indicating the exact error.

Sometimes false positives can occur and Facebook will flag the product for “violating community standards”. This has been known to happen and if this is the case for you, you can click the blue “let us know” link showing on the tool, which will report the problem to Facebook. This is what it should look like:

If, after following these steps you are still experiencing product publishing issues, I recommend reaching out to Facebook’s technical team via their Business Resources Page as this would indicate it is an issue entirely on their end.

Let me know how that goes!

Go to another platform. Nothing is working with Facebook App, and Shopify can’t fix it. I promise. Countless hours I won’t get back. Every person I talk to has me do the same thing. When I add the Facebook channel back in, it includes back in all of the hidden items that can’t go to Facebook. Repeat the insanity over and over. Looking for other platforms. I suggest others do the same. They’ve stopped caring about small businesses. Been with them four 4 years. First they helped, now they send screenshots and don’t answer your emails. 2 open issues they’ve been ignoring.

Hey! you can start a chat with a Facebook support rep, it usually takes a day or two to hear back from them. Here's the link: https://www.facebook.com/business/help?ref=fbb_ens
