Facebook pixel overreporting, need help!

Hi guys, I'm having a lot of problems with facebook overreporting conversions when they never happened. For example, Facebook will say I have 6 store purchases when I only had 1 and so on. This is messing up my data and roas. My pixel is set up already but I think I repeatedly pasted the fbq tracking code to multiple places and don't know how to fix this. I need help with someone looking through the code to figure out why the pixel is not reporting accurately. Thank you so much.

Hi @orby, to resolve the issue of Facebook pixel overreporting, you should follow these steps

  • Install the Meta Pixel Helper Chrome Extension to verify and eliminate any undesired Purchase events
  • Review and delete unnecessary Purchase events tracked in PixelYourSite if you use PixelYourSite
  • Make sure to disable the "Track Events Automatically Without Code" option in Facebook Ads Manager

Hope these steps prove effective for the situation you encounter 🙂

Hi @orby

This is Amelia at PageFly - Shopify Advanced Page Builder app.

I understand your frustration with Facebook overreporting conversions. Here's how we can troubleshoot the issue:

You mentioned having the Facebook Pixel code pasted in multiple places. This can definitely lead to duplicate events and inflated conversions.

Solutions:

  1. Check Pixel Setup:

  2. Review Conversion Events:

    • In your Facebook Ads Manager, go to Events Manager.
    • Verify that you're only tracking the intended conversion events (purchases in your case).
    • Make sure "Track Events Automatically Without Code" is disabled.
  3. Utilize Shopify Integration:

    • If you're using the official Facebook app for Shopify, it should automatically handle pixel implementation.
    • Double-check the app settings and ensure proper integration.

Hoping my solution helps you solve your problem.

Amelia | PageFly
