Facebook Shopify Store - Showing Free Shipping on EVERYTHING

Good morning,

So after reviewing my Shopify Facebook Store we noticed that it is applying FREE SHIPPING to everything? We do Free shipping with $80 or more.

Can anyone tell us how to turn this off or tell us how to adjust this?

Thank you,

This is an accepted solution.

Sorry for the delay. So this solution above worked for us. The key is you have to be in Facebook "Commerce Manger." Once in it, follow the steps. It worked and fixed our problem.

Hi! If you weren’t able to figure this out, go to your shipping section within your account settings. From there you will see several options. Mine reflected free shipping on rates over $50 or more. I was having the same issue until I realized that’s what was going on. Hope this helps!

Nicolejones2310,

Thank you for this information. When you say go to the shipping section, are you talking about the Facebook shipping section or the Shopify shipping section?

We’re you able to figure this out? We have the same issue and I’ve checked our shipping settings. We don’t offer free shipping on anything right now but it’s showing up as free in FB

Unfortunately no... Over the past few months I have been told it is Facebook issue from the Shopify techs and Facebook is saying it is a Shopify issue.  Still trying to find a resolution.

Thanks for the info.  I think I just discovered that Free Shipping only shows up on mobile devices - not when I view it from a desktop.

So, mobile device and desk tops should be the same. I am seeing the issue on both. I did get this response today from Shopify:

Hello Robertsonak,

Thank you for contacting Shopify Support! My name is Elaine from the Support Specialist team, and I will be helping you today.

From the initial message, I see that you're looking for assistance regarding your products showing "Free Shipping". It sounds like this is unexpected behavior, and a shipping rate should be displayed. Hopefully I understood your inquiry well - I'm glad you chose to reach out regarding this concern, and I'm more than happy to assist.

Since this question is about Facebook, I am assuming that the products are showing as "Free Shipping" on your Facebook Shop. However, if there are any misunderstandings, please email back and let us know.

Upon reviewing the Shopify Facebook Channel setup, I see that you have your Facebook Commerce Checkout Method set to your Shopify store. When this is the case, the shipping information from Shopify would not be synced over to Facebook. This means that the shipping information displayed on Facebook is coming from Facebook's end.

To help determine where the "Free Shipping" label is coming from, I'd recommend checking the following areas:

  • Shipping Options from Commerce Manager - This can be found in your Facebook Commerce Manager, selecting "Settings", and then finding "Shipping Options". From there, you'll be able to view and edit your current shipping options on your Facebook Shop.
  • Offers Section from Commerce Manager - This can be found in your Facebook Commerce Manager, selecting "Shop", selecting "Promotions", and then finding the "Offers" section. From there, you may check if there are any "Free Shipping" offers in the area.
    •

If you're unable to find any "Free Shipping" labels in either of the sections, I would recommend to Contact Facebook Support directly for further assistance regarding the display of "Free Shipping" on your products.

I am going to try this rout tonight and report back.

Hope this helps someone.

I am having the same problem and neither of the selections above resolve anything.

#1 - This just tells you to go to Shopify to manage these settings.

#2 - There is no Offer setup.

Anyone had any further luck?

I believe I figured this out for us. I don't really understand it but this is what I did.

Got to Settings/Localization

Add a Localized view of your shop

I didn't add any shipping costs just to see what would happen.

Now my shop doesn't say Free Shipping and still says "This will take you to <store url>

I went through the process even though this seems like something you would do only if you were going to let customers check out directly on Facebook and it seems to have worked.

Are these settings in Shopify or Facebook? It looks like shopify but I am not seeing localization settings anywhere

Hi there. There are a couple solutions above. Can you tell us which one worked for you?

Facebook "Commerce Manger" is the issue. You must go through this management platform. here is a link I found:

It is awful that Facebook is forcing business to use this tool now.

Just wanted to let you know, on my end I do see it as a mobile app issue mostly.  On the desktop version, it doesn't show up as a Free Shipping icon, but when I click on any product and it opens the product screen, it does show "Free Standard Shipping" on that page.

In Shopify, go to shipping and deliver.  From there scroll down to shipping origins section, expand it. then look at the first setting in economy for $100 and up. Click the 3 little dots to expand it. Click edit rate. From there you'll see where the $50 free shipping amount is entered.  I would suggest increasing this amount or disabling it all together.

Thanks,

Kelly

Okay I figured it out. It is none of the above.

If free shipping is enabled in the discount section for Shopify, then on Shopify's end it shows free shipping and even on facebook/instagrams store front. The problem is once you actually add the item and go to the checkout screen via Facebook/Instagram, for some reason the shipping does not reflect the final deal shopify is showing.

To fix the error so that you see the free shipping promotion reflect in your Facebook and Instagram shop,  go to your Settings>Shipping and Delivery>General Shipping Rates (This has a right arrow which opens a new screen. You have to scroll down and where it shows your "economy" rate (or a different name you may have chosen for it), you have to click the three dots and edit this rate. I do not know why but this must be set to $0 for the shipping rate, to accurately reflect onto that last checkout screen for Facebook/Instagram.

Keep in mind, down the road if you don't offer free shipping, you have to come back here to make sure you change this to the right shipping amount.

Shopify, this is a simple issue that can be fixed. At the time of this posting, this is definitely an active issue. Please look into this.

HELP.

We offer free shipping on orders over $150. There is a promotional message in the IG shop that says "You're getting free shipping on this order!" even when the customer has a cart that is under $150. Once the customer gets to checkout in the IG Shop, the correct shipping rates/options load, but it's terrible that we can't edit that message as it's misleading/confusing to the customer. Meta support is telling us we have to edit the rates in Shopify, and Shopify support is telling us we have to edit the rates in Meta.

I've looked at the solutions in this forum and none have worked for us.

Hey! Did you ever find a solution to this problem? I'm having the same issue.
