Feature Request - Automated AI Alt-Texts

SEO is one of the greater challenges while using platforms like shopify, I found myself spending half of my time describing and writing alt-texts.

Now with the capabilities of AI to define images and the AI incorporation of shopify into the platform, it would be amazing to have this dry job to be automatically done, and will also help merchants who has less knowledge about web and SEO. Just put that AI icon besides every file on files manager to rewrite alt text with AI 🙂

This is a really simple feature to develop and has so many benefits for us users!

I put together an automation workflow template to create alt text using an AI algorithm - https://blog.getmesa.com/how-to-write-product-image-alt-tags-using-ai/

It works by sending the image to an API on replicate.com which generates text based on the image and then pass that over the Shopify API into the alt text for the images.

Thats really cool, but every solution/app that I bump into includes only product images (that makes sense cause probably these are the only images that has access through API). But product images are like only 2% of my overall site images..

Ah gotcha. Yeah bummer that we can't get access to all the images on the site.
