All things Shopify and commerce
Hi. I'm based in Hawaii and I ship electronic dartboards (about 25" x 25" x 3", 10lb) to the mainland U.S. Recently, I noticed that Shopify started offering FedEx 2-Day Air for around $21 to the mainland. It was a great surprise—fast and very affordable!
But just yesterday, even though that rate still shows up when I try to buy a label, Shopify won’t let me purchase it anymore. Has anyone else run into this?
Here’s what I’ve found trying other apps:
Pirate Ship: Only offers USPS and UPS
Shippo: FedEx 2-Day was $58
EasyShip: Same FedEx 2-Day for $36 (best I could find, so I used that)
I'm wondering... was that $21 rate from Shopify just a glitch or a short-term deal?
And more importantly—how are other Hawaii-based sellers handling FedEx or fast shipping options to the mainland lately?
Would love to hear what’s working (or not working) for you.
Thanks!
Hello, from what I’ve gathered, it might have been a temporary promotional rate, or even a carrier side miscalculation that Shopify briefly passed on. The fact that it still shows up but doesn’t let you purchase the label suggests it could be a deprecated or no longer supported rate on their backend.
Good news! Today I was able to print the FedEx 2-Day Air label from Shopify again at the low rate (around $22 from Hawaii to mainland). Yay!!
Really hope this rate continues—it's fast and affordable. Just wanted to share in case anyone had the same problem earlier.
