All things Shopify and commerce
Shopify and its merchants have been marching into the web3 space with adoption increasingly rapidly. I’ve been watching the ecosystem evolve over the past year and while there’s a lot of innovation, there is still a long way to go until. I have a background of building product in web3 and to get to wide spread adoption, it’ll need to be even easier for merchants to leverage this technology.
💭Merchants, what current pain points do you have when looking to explore and use web3, blockchain and crypto? I’ll throw some ideas out there to get us started and see what resonates, please feel free to drop your thoughts in the comments.
Experience 😎
Are there suitable applications which allow for end-to-end NFT journeys? Including things like creating authenticity stamps, minting NFTs, wallet connect, buying with crypto etc. (a large category here)? It seems like there are a lot of applications available here - are they fit for purpose?
Analytics ⭐
You’ve implemented NFTs, but now what? How can you understand your target audience? How can you position products that are perfect for them when they visit your store?
Privacy 🚫
You might leverage on-chain data and wallet data but how are you respecting and preserving the privacy of your customers?
Education 🖋
Is there enough education out there? The technology can be complicated so its hard to understand what an NFT even is, let alone using them for your business
It'd be amazing to hear from you all as to what you're experiencing on the ground! Drop your thoughts in the comments below
When using Web3, blockchain, and crypto tools or platforms:
Complexity: Many Web3, blockchain, and crypto tools and platforms can be complex and require a certain level of technical knowledge to use effectively. This can be a barrier for some users, especially those who are new to the technology.

I Agree with AiTrillion,
It is still very early days and I struggle to understand the ROI / value of including crypto payments and web3 journeys. Furthermore, I feel like the tooling is still very primitive. Asking users to connect wallets and sign transactions is an odd experience. Also users may not like the idea of connecting something that reveals a lot of information about them to an external company - as it can reveal information about their IP and other information like what is in their wallet. This means there is also a privacy concern.
