Filtering Collections in a Homepage Section

I would like to have a section on my homepage that is a grid with a Load More button, Sort-by dropdown, and a sidebar of faceted filters. For some reason, even though i pass the collection as a parameter to the sidebar__faceted-filter snippet (the collection title works, for example), for some reason the snippet does not see the Collection Filters.

collection.filters

is an empty array. 

TL;DR: Does anybody know if collection filtering works on a page that is not a "/collections/" page? Like a homepage section?

Did you ever Found the Solution?

It has to do with the URLs but I'm not sure how to do a work around
