Hello, i have not received any solution to this issue i am having after chatting on 2 occasions for assistance.  this is the error I get when uploading my CSV file:

 

Validation failed: The variant 'Default Title' already exists.

 

These are single products with NO Variations.  I have followed the instructions as per the guide.

Pls help so I can open up my store.  The fact that I can't get a solution is keeping me from moving forward.

I definitely understand the importance of getting something like this resolved. You mentioned you've reached out to our live support a few times but still haven't found a solution, are they still investigating the issue for you? 

 

In the interim, if you could share a sample of the product CSV you are trying to upload, with just 1-5 products in the file, and with your proprietary info replaced with placeholder text, I'd be happy to test the CSV format for you. 

 

You can create a document on Google Sheets, copy and paste a few lines from your existing CSV file into the sheet and share the URL or upload a copy of the file here for me to have a look at. 

 

Another great way to troubleshoot these kinds of errors is to create one of the products you are having issues with directly in the admin and then export that single product to a CSV file to use as a template. This can directly showcase any formatting issues that might be happening.

thank you for your quick response. Yes shopify chat agents both gave me
same reply of having to reach out to others and getting back to me but
haven't received anything yet. So here's a CSV with the items I'm trying
to upload. I will be uploading jpegs separately that's why url is not
included.

I see your reply but I don't see any attached files in your response. Can you try sharing the file again or providing us a copy of the URL for it through google sheets or excel online.

Hi @sweet-baby-moon,

IF you could send me at least part of your file which you are trying to upload (including lines which was causing errors) I could give you more detailed response of what may have caused issues on it.

Anyway here are some insights of what may have caused your import file to fail:

Make sure that you provide unique handle for each product (Column A), as I know in case you don't provide it shopify will sanitize your product title and create handle from it, but in case you have same title I am not sure it it will be able to differentiate those products.

Uploading simple products (product with 1 variant) using same handle may cause variant attributes issues, because shopify define product (and all it's variants) based on handle.
