Getting thousands of Russian bot customers

Like stated, I recently started to get thousands of customer accounts from Russia. A few have contacted me and told me they didn’t sign up for anything, which just reinforces that it’s a bot or a breach or something. Is there anything I can do?

You can always use something like locksmith to block access depending on location?

I understand you're receiving an increased amount of visitors and suspect they may be bots.

It looks as though @SomeUsernameHe has suggested a great option of using the Locksmith app from the Shopify App Store to help prevent bots.

Another option to explore is enabling reCAPTCHA on your store. reCAPTCHA continuously monitors the visitor’s behavior to determine whether it’s a human or a bot. You can enable this by going to your Shopify admin > Online Store > Preferences section. Scroll down to Spam Protection and tick the two boxes to enable Google reCAPTCHA.

I recommend following the steps shared in my previous post if you haven't already enabled reCAPTCHA. 

Additionally, you can also check out apps like Negate - Bot Protection and IPQS Bot & Fraud Prevention.

try one of those anti bot shopify apps. there are plenty that have bot block or vpn block so it would filter our bots. for example: https://apps.shopify.com/kedra-shield-website-security  they also have country blocks or ip blocks
