Gift Card for a Physical Location

Hello, 

We have a physical restaurant and are looking to use Shopify to sell on-demand printed T-shirts and a few other things. I'd like to also be able to sell physical gift cards to our restaurant as well. These would be cards paid for on Shopify, but sent out by the restaurant and only redeemable at the restaurant.

Has anyone done this or have any recommendations? We do not use Shopify POS.

I’ve done this in past. We just set up the gift cards as a regular item. You don’t need to do anything special. Once the customer orders the gift card you mail it to them. That’s all.

one thing to consider is - will each gift card amount be another item or you can set it up as one item and have a drop with different amounts, using product variants and the amount will be the variant. 

to keep it simple we set up pre determined amounts. $25,$50,$100

if you want to allow the customer  to input the amount (accustom amount) then it will get trickery. You will need an app or custom coding.

Thank you for the suggestion. 

I've set it up as you suggested as I don't need them to manually input an amount.

Now I just need to figure out how to get rid of the shipping and return text from the product page.
