Google ads - bad links detected

Hi Shopify community,

I'm contacting you with a request for help.
Unfortunately we can't go live with google ads as there are always a failure messages that keeps saying: manipulated website.

www.erzbube.de

After contacting the google ads support we got informed that three links are bad/manipulated. Our programmer couldn't find those in the code.

magni-dcm.info
menel-cim.info
junon-amn.info

Does anybody of you is facing the same issues? Could you solve them?

I already found other users with comparable issues, like mentioned in this thread.

https://community.shopify.com/c/shopify-discussions/bad-link-detected-by-google/m-p/2646797#M452198

But unfortunaly neither the hints from shopify support nor the actions in the mentioned thread helped.

We already cleaned the website und the user devices. We uninstalled several plugins, etc.

But nothing works so far and google is not able to tell where we can find the mentioned code links.

Can anyone help me with this?

Those links do not belong to your store, so I guess you need to add something like rel="noindex" and then try to submit again.

Hi @Hang_Loose ,

Welcome to Shopify Community.

Based on the information that you've provided, you've said that your programmers could not find the links, that were sent by Google, on your code.

Have you used some unauthorized third party apps on your site?

Shopify themes, by default, won't have this code and since you could not find these your code, possible case I could think of is - the links are being called by some apps via JS.

If possible, please pass your store URL here.

I can check in detail and let you know.

Thank you.

Sajat

Hi @Hang_Loose

Thank you for passing the store URL.

I will check and try to find the cause of the issue.

Meanwhile, are there any email that Google has sent you regarding the location of the page where there are presence of those malicious links?

If not, you may have to ask Google Support to email you the list of malicious links because of which Ads are getting disapproved.

Meanwhile, I will continue with checking the site and update you.

Thank you,

Sajat

Hi Sajat,

thank you!

Unfortunately the aren't able to tell us the exact location of the three mentioned links.

They just have sent us the three mentioned links.

Hi @Hang_Loose

Adwords team uses their own internal tool, which goes beyond and checks code inside the JS/CSS and other files in our store as well as  hosting environment. Further, switching the content on a page, injecting any code in the page (like ads), and infected hosting environment may cause this issue in AdWords.

I have checked your site thoroughly for any kind of JS calls that references to the above mentioned sites and I have not been able to find any apps/references.

I do not think this issue is with hosting environment as well, as it is taken care by Shopify.

So, it is better to contact Google Adwords teams, asking them to pass the reference URLs, from where this issue has occurred so that it can be investigated further.

You can find the details for Google Support team here.

P.S.

I have checked for any kind of malicious JS using tools outside of Shopify and since I do not have collaborator access for your site, I am taking your word on unavailability of these links on theme.

If you want to do a full check, please DM me and I can suggest you further steps.

I really think you should push for the infected URLs details from Google Ads Team.

Thank you,

Sajat
